On my system, qgl is install in /usr/lib/libqgl.so. 

When you ran the configure strict did it say it found qgl. It may be that
you installed qgl after first running the configure script and your cache
is saying it is still not installed. Do configure --help and see the
option for running configure without using the cache.

Keep in mind the software is alpha :)

If you send me directly the outputs you ran I will look it over and see if
I can figure it out.
