I had once the same problem . This error is caused by an older libjpeg
which is installed on SuSE 5 by default, it should be located somewhere
in /usr/X11R6/lib, the name ist libjpeg.a (i hope :-)). Try to move it
to a temporary directory, do not delete it - who knows, maybe an older
application depends on it.
Do a ldconfig.
That should do.
