I think we need to standardise on the following:

 - The version tested is a stable binary version
 - The version tested does not include "distro extras" such as icons.
Debian
   is perfect for this as it does not add anything else.

That's what I was thinking, but it can vary from distro to distro.
Mostly 
what icons are on Kicker and what icons are on the desktop.  That's why
it 
needs to be standardized when the tester creates and sets up the test
user's 
desktop.  Each user taking the test should see the exact same thing(or
close 
enough to it) that way it doesn't skew the data and make the test
invalid.
