Why have three-finger shortcuts at all? Shortcuts should be two
fingers, and only three fingers for a reverse action, such as Ctrl-Z
for Undo and Shift-Ctrl-Z for redo.

How about having the WM shortcuts on the F keys, and the application
shortcuts as Ctrl- and Alt- modified shortcuts?
