You can't do the multiple selection thing by clicking your left button (and 
keeping it pressed) and moving around with the checkboxes. That is why I guess 
select/deselect all buttons would be useful in this case.

I'll commit what I have so far (no checkboxes yet) and you can try it out if 
you want. To see the difference simply go to the filter dialog of the 
folderview.
