You do realize that you can configure the taskbar to notify you instead? Under 
system settings->desktop->... 

Or perhaps we are discussing the default, here. 

Personally, I am happy with the bouncy thingy. Being pretty forgetful, I tend 
to forget if I have clicked or not.
