Well, for one because it needs to be supported in Qt, not just KDE, so 
you are in the wrong place. :-)

This is not a problem since this sort of support must be done in the 
qt-style anyway. A style supporting such highlighting will undoubtedly 
handle this acceptably, perhaps by using a muted highlight for focus or 
changing what it uses for hover effects.

Besides, I like that hover effect. :-)
