I think we are loosing the main focus on that.

The main point of KDE has always been empowering users. That's what KDE stands
for. Empower users.

Being able to do lots of different things is what makes KDE users maintain
with their interfaces.

Another thing is if average users are going to use that power. I'm sure most
average users don't use desktops.

Desktops should be removed from the default so people don't loose all their
windows when they click someplace they don't remember?

NO. And NO because that Desktops thing is what empowers users and make them
able to do multiple tasks at the same time in a much more ordered way that
windows users do.

That aplies to multiple things in KDE. Being able to simply remove borders
from a screen, or move a screen to another desktop, minimize, and roll up and
a thousand of different ticks, make KDE users more productive that any other.

If you want an interface with very, very little options to avoid confusing
your user, then simply get Gnome or buy a MacOSX.

But if you've been a kde user, have you tried a Mac OSX? It is a nightmare.
Lots of things you do with konqueror, konsole, kwin or any other part of your
system are not donable simply because they focus too much on simplicity.

So here comes the last point anyway. Is moving tabs going to make KDE more
difficult to use? NO.

Is it going to make the interface more powerful? Not for me but people would
find it useful.

Then that's a feature KDE should have.

And then, one day, some of us will find it very useful (for example to avoid
having to find your kontact process in a 20 processes list).

That's what makes KDE special. Don't forget it, please.
