While I don't really like the mockup (not scaleable beyong a fixed number of
elements, incorrect use of the "button" graphical metaphor), I feel reminded
of the old NeXT multi column view.

Basically the "Buttons", i.e. "Applications" / "Games" / "Arcade" are shown
as part of the horizontal hierarchy, while the
"Press to search" field is implicit by pressing the correct letters.
