If the list is in focus (the actual list item and not the kopete window),
you can jump to an item with a certain letter by hitting the correct key
on the keyboard.. that is a typical behaviour of a list.  AFAIK you cant
start typing a string and have the list do a dynamic search and find your
string.  The difference is one is a common widget behaviour and the other
is additional functionality.
