Kontact follows the design that all its data is stored outside of Kontact 
itself; on a mailserver for example.  Or in a file resource, like the one 
you want.  The default resources are meant for zero config startup, but 
indeed do not allow tricks like the above.

Use a specified resource to get your items from a shared resource.  No 
need to change the default resource for this usage.
