given the howto you post above, it still assumes that a user manipulates their 
/etc/apt/sources.list in order to install java. 
this for a distribution arguably more popular than Fedora.

any external dependency on java has historically proven to be a bad idea, 
especially given it's non-free and polemic political status. 
java is difficult to distribute and hence install for this reason. 

secondly, installations of java across linux sites are performatively varied and 
tend to feature poor/abberrant rendering.
