I agree. It's only an idea not to clutter the pane.

It's this one.
I still do not understand for which purpose it can be useful.

Perhaps beacause when you launch kprinter alone, there is nothing to preview ?

OK makes the job, but the next printing will use the previous settings, and 
Save will save the setting for the next operation.
Perhaps it should be more clear OK does not save the settings.
I think this should be addet to the wish report.

I did not find it. where is it ??

A menubar could unclutter the dialog : Quit, Help, Settings, etc.
