Hi,

I think since KDE 2.0 konqy and the file dialog don't feature a ".." item to
go one level up, instead they come with an "Up"-button, which requires a
toolbar and a shortcut bound to this button (usually Alt+Up).

Now, e.g. in KDevelop Alt+Up is used for "Go to last accessed document", so
that in the fileselector side tab Alt+Shift+Up is used for "one directory
up". I didn't find out until I had a look at the code.
Additionally it is IMHO faster to navigate if there is a ".." entry at the top
of each directory. You can just press PgUp several times followed by Return
and you're one level higher. With Alt+Up I have to use both hands to go one
dir up.

So, what do you think about reintroducing ".." ?

Bye
Alex
