Nowdays it is possible to do direct manipulation of file and folder
names in konqueror.
This is really nice, if it wasn't for that it is really easy to change a
name by mistake.

This is how I think it should work to prevent such mistackes. (It is
also similar to how it works in MacOS and Windows)

1) Select the icon or filename of a file.
    - The file should now appear selected.
    - The text should remain uneditable after this action.

2) Select the text of an already selected icon
    - The filename should now be editable and appear selected with a
blinking cursor at the beginning.

3) Press click on the dektop or select some other icon to make the
altered file unselected to confirm the change

As it is now the text becomes editable as soon as the filename text is
selected regardless if the icon was previously
selected or not.

I don't know if this is a bug, or if it actually is designed to work
this way, but changeing it as suggested above
would reduce the risk of changing names by mistake.

Uno Engborg
