Hi Tina, Regarding point #3, Tog once said that inconsistency can be your friend in usability: "It is just as important to be visually inconsistent when things must act differently as it is to be visually consistent when things act the same." So, I think that justifies why the menubar slides down and the K menu slides up. They are just 2 different things - one is for application-specific commands, one is for launching applications and actions; one is fixed, one is customizable and can be dragged.
