I agree, especially for those items that seems to "float on their own" - like the "lib" in the given screenshot. Is it a part of "jre" or "blackdown"? Not easy to see. If those tiny light-grey lines are introduced as well, though, I think it would be OK - as long as this is something introduced by the style. (The default style should have the [+] and [-] - but with light-gray lines instead of dotted lines - as long as this is allowed by the palette.
