There's no sense in discussing the default theme at this point in the
release cycle. My personal opinion is that the default theme should not be
changed before KDE 4.0, and it should only be changed if there are really
convincing arguments. Many people love Plastik (me included!). Many people
love Keramik. Arguments such as "everybody likes Plastik" or "plastik
looks better" are not good at all. If you really believe a change should
be made, then you should compile a list of arguments pointing out why the
change should happen, and provide us this list for discussion at the
beginning of the development cycle (and not at the end, such as this
time). One should also note that Plastik still has some problems, and it
would be nice if these problems were solved.

KControl has severe usability problems. People know that. You are likely to
see many discussion about it post-3.2, and hopefully its weaknesses will
be solved for KDE 3.3 (or 4.0, assuming there's no 3.3).

The KDE promotion team is working hard on that. Expect many positive
reviews of KDE strengths by the time 3.2 is released next month.
