kde-usability is not a feature request list. it's for the discussion of 
usability issues. while i appreciate you taking the time to post a well 
thought out message, to get proper attention you should probably file a 
wishlist item on bugs.kde.org and/or speak to the maintainer of the 
application directly.

btw, there will likely be a new pdf reader in 3.2: kpdf .. it is being 
actively developed.
