X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-usability&m=106090099416888 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi... applications that allow saving of the contents of what they display but not the editting of the content itself (Konqueror, kmail, KGhostView), they offer a Save As.. option but no Save... in addition, Save As... is usually bound to the save accel (Ctrl+S by default)... though some apps such as kghostview do not do this. i'd like to ammend the UI guidelines to codify this behaviour: "If the application only offers a read-only view or if the data in the main document area can never be saved back to the original source, Save As... should be the only saving option offered in the File menu. It should also be bound to the default save keyboard accelerator. The Save... entry is only appropriate when files can be opened, editted and then saved back to the original file." any comments? - -- Aaron J.
