I doubt it (forcing AbiWord to use pletters is horror, not worth it,
Kword is good for creating docs only for me - in this case I prefer
Vim+latexSuite :)

Even if it will work with OpenOffice effect for emulators is doubtful.
There are some barriers impossible to break.
