A don't show this again popup will not deal with this problem IMO. Better will 
be a dialog which automatically dissapears after the print with the following 
information:
o progres bar based on how many pages are alreay printed.
o "Cancel Print" button (if you click on this you have to confirm with this 
first of course)
o name of the stuff that is printed.
o the dialog should work like e.g. a new mail dialog from kmail: entry in 
taskbar, possible to move this window to background.
o maybe somthing I forget? :)

I think this isn't necessary because the default printer is already selected 
when you click print. The only thing which should be implemented IMO is that 
near the default printer in the list the word "Default" between brackets 
should be placed. So:
<default_printer_name> (Default)
<other printers>
- ---
Print to File
...
