I agree.

I am not sure what you mean by sidebar.

I agree. I have tried icons on buttons and turn them off after a few hours.
I personally don't like them, but that's just me.

I need to try QinxFlat.

I agree.

I use the KDE2 windec for a couple reasons:

1. Most importantly, I can configure the height of the title bar. This is
extremely important to me because I like to use large fonts in my title bar.
No other windecs I have tried allow me to adjust the title bar height.
I think it also could potentially confuse a user to have an option available
in one decoration, but not the other -- it was to me. I expected to have the
very same option in other decorations , but they were not there. This was
not behavior i was 'expecting'.

2. It displays the application icon in the title bar. I think this should be
mandatory for all window decorations -- it is a very convenient visual cue.

Does KDE have a website were users can fill out usability forms? Something
like this would be great, something similar to a restraunt feedback form.
For example, questions such as:

   1. What do you like most about KDE.
   2. What do you like least about KDE.
   3. What is your favorite KDE application.
   4. Which KDE window decoration do you find yourself using the most.
   5. Which KDE theme do you find yourself using the most.
   6. Which combinations of window decorations and themes do you find yourself
       using the most.
   7. Do you use windows regularly and if so, what do you like in windows that
you would like to see in KDE and vice versa.
   8. What fonts and font sizes do you use the most?
   9. What color schemes are your favorite?
 10. What color schemes are your least favorite?
 11. Are the current color schemes satisfactory? Would you like more/better
       schemes?
 12. If you were to change one thing about KDE, what would it be? (this would
probably be their least favorite thing about KDE).

So on and so on. I think you get the idea. If something like this exists --
great. If not, i think it would help.
