I believe that the problem with tabs is not limited to Konqueror, but that there is a general lack of consistancy in (what I would refer to as) 'user tabs' in KDE. User tabs are tabs which are created as and when the user requires them (as opposed the hard coded tabs you get in dialog boxes for settings and such like). There are 'user tabs' in Konqueror, Quanta Plus and Konsole and probably other apps (though these are three I use the most). The best implementation IMHO are those in Konsole. One feature I would like to see in Konqueror (and Quanta Plus) is the 'new' button, much like Konsole's it would allow you to choose the category of tab you wanted to create (i.e. choose a view profile). Obviously there should be some sort of close button tab button in Konqueror, which takes you to the last active tab when you close the current tab (Konsole could do with one too (though I imagine most people just hit CTRL-D)). BTW if anyone knows of (or comes up with) a better name than 'user tabs' I would like to know. Regards. J Hooks. _______________________________________________ kde-usability-issues mailing list kde-usability-issues@mail.kde.org http://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-usability-issues - ------------------------------------------------------- - -- Cheers, Chris Howells -- chris@chrishowells.co.uk, howells@kde.org Web: http://chrishowells.co.uk, PGP ID: 33795A2C KDE: http://www.koffice.org, http://printing.kde.org, http://usability.kde.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.0 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+WlyiF8Iu1zN5WiwRArziAKCbsWT7pt2YXszWNJqsHGfCM06CKwCfRM1J tGiNHbxi/SmzleP2ZvrMFQY= =3xwK -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ kde-usability mailing list kde-usability@mail.kde.org http://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-usability
