I am not sure thats such a good idea. Instead use kde-config --prefix

We cant require Xrender before sun implements it in their x-server.

This should be handled by the linking format. Personally I wouldnt mind 
obsoleting ELF.

Hopefully it should be possible to make packages that work regardsless of OS 
as long as it some kind of posix unix with X.
