Whoever said that is plainly lying.  I'm sitting in front of the 
Multimedia control applet, clicking at the right of the checkbox, and 
absolutely nothing happens.  Perhaps the solution is to place a 
container widget and *inside it* place the checkbox, much a la 
gtkalignment style.
