Hi!

Before I start my rant I want to say all in all KDE3.1 is a nice improvement.

However:

The quicklaunch menus are unfortunately no longer usable for me in KDE 3.1 because it \
crops all file names and shows only the first 13 and last 10 characters of each file \
name. If you have a lot files with longer names for example like:
 Project_Presentation-2002-draft_version.kdw
 Project_Presentation-2002-05_final.kdw
 Project_Presentation-2002-08_final.kdw
 Project_Presentation-2002-09_final.kdw
 Project_Presentation-2002-10_final.kdw
 Project_Presentation-2003-final.kdw

 Quicklaunch will change it to:

 Project_Prese...ersion.kdw
 Project_Prese..._final.kdw
 Project_Prese..._final.kdw
 Project_Prese..._final.kdw
 Project_Prese..._final.kdw
 Project_Prese...-final.kdw

 - Quicklaunch menus became completely useless for me because I was using it for a \
lot of Files I named in a "Category-date-description" scheme. The most important part \
(the date in the middle) is cut out by Quicklaunch and the last 6 characters of the \
description which are still there (the extension takes 4 characters out of the 10) is \
not nearly enough.
Is there any workaround for this problem? I couldn't find anything in \
~/.kde/share/config/kickerrc.

P.S.: I miscounted the characters at the end, it's also 13, not 10. Doesn't change \
much, though.
