Hi,

putting all available features into a context menu might be the most honest
approach but it slows down the individual since he always needs to search for
entries among many others.

Let's compare the BeOS context menus:

1) Trash context menu:

IMVHO BeOS does it right. Most people just want to
a) look into the Trash Bin and
b) empty it

KDE is very successfull here in making a simple thing as complicated as
possible by crowding a short cut menu (which is meant to provide only the
most important actions) with nearly _ALL_ possible actions. Yeah, of course
you can write the Trash to a cd, but who does that in reality?

2) General file context menu:

What i like most from BeOS is the "Add-Ons" submenu which prevents plugins
polluting the context menu like in kde.
KDE follows the infamous Perl "there's more than one way to do it" spirit .
IMVHO KDE should chose between:
a) provide copy to/move to quick browsers like in BeOS _OR_
b) provide cut/copy/paste entries.

Less is sometimes more.

Bye
Lenny
