i heartily agree.

putting two "Media Player"s on the menu just invites confusion.

there should be a media player that is explicitly started (i.e. the KDE media
player), and then kaboodle which may be embedded into a web page or whatever.

to be quite honest i don't even like the way kaboodle is made the default for
playing mp3s or whatever - when i click an mp3 on my desktop i expect it to
initiate (or communicate with) the same program as clicking a playlist. if it
does not, i might open a playlist, then decide to listen to one mp3 in
particular (and not in the playlist) and it would play over the playlist (and
make a horrible noise). at the very least it should be a nice easy option to
change.

also, it would be nice to be able to right-click and have an "Add to current
playlist" option as well as a "Open over current playlist": sometimes i want
one functionality, other times i want the other.

also, it would be nice if playlist files opened correctly in noatun.
currently, they do open, but there's an extra item at the top of the playlist
whose filename is the playlist, even though it's not a media file. in
addition to this, it does not start playing automatically, even though i
checked the "Start playling automatically" (or whatever) checkbox.

they're not exactly big problems, but they make my life as a user more
difficult than it need be.
