hrm. well on my sound card (sb live), the main volume control does not
actually alter anything, since i use the digiital output (i suspect this is a
glitch in the drivers but i dont know).
this probably isn't the most common situation, but having to go into a menu
and select the correct item just to tweak the volume is so annoying that it
makes kmix next to useless for me.

as it happens, i quite like the windows-style double-click functionality, with
the single click only popping up the main volume, but perhaps that's just me.
in any case i think there should at least be an option to make it act like
this.

relabeling stuff would not help my gripe.

yes, but i think what chris is pointing out is that some people (at least 2 :)
actually use the full functionality of kmix enough to perhaps make it more
easily available than it is currently.
