i disagree. it allows a visual grouping of the colours and the blen mode 
controls the widgets below it (save for the primary color, but i don't think 
many will notice that)... this gives greater visual continuity, provides a 
control->controled relationship while also providing grouping by type (blend, 
colour, details button)

let the layout mange this. this colours are quite apparent and color buttons 
elsewhere are handled the same way.
