Conflict might be my proposed usage of the clipboard symbol both as
status monitor and as an action button. The idea came from the missing
feedback for the copy action as nothing changes visually. Seems I have
to redraw my proposal. 

But I would like to propose something different: Show no inserting and
cutting symbol in readonly mode at all.
