annonymizing it would make it useless as a configuration back up, since many 
config settings hold personal info.

the same thing any of us gets: satisfaction from helping out.

if we make it clear that by submitting your config settings (we can show them 
what is being sent before sending it, as well) that it will help us shipped 
with better defaults, i'm certain we'll get lots of participants if the 
software is easy enough to use.
