I like the middle one, although I'm not convinced that a Terminal or Editor 
should be there by default.  Remember, the point is to minimalize it.  If 
someone wants those things, let them add them, but I say:\

KMENU | Desktop | Control Center | Help | Konqueror | (KMail - MAYBE)

I thing this is a good minimum set that includes the main items.  I'm sure 
plenty will disagree.  I think keeping the Logoff/Lock icons off the panel is 
a good idea.  I think having the virtual desktops in the middle is a good 
idea... and lastly, I agree with the many people that say that the 
taskbar(section) should get the vast majority of the real estate by default.

Just my 2 cents.
