Though even the mouse tutorial makes sense, it's only useful for
out-of-the-box installations (think Walmart), because if you install KDE or
even compile it from source, you most likey know how to use a mouse ;)

wvl states that KPersonalizer is flawed. That is particulary true.
KPersonalizer started as a quickhack before KDE 2.1 to ease configuration of
style in a central place that did (and still up to now does not) exist in
kcontrol. Still kpersonalizer's tasks do not neccessarily overlap with those
of kcontrol:

KPersonalizer should boil down to "What kind of system are you used to"?

The keyword on the kcontrol is "Thememanager". Currently it is very hard to
place themes and even tho it works it is not very convinient. We're simply
lacking coders in this area (I tried to bundle the existing modules but ran
out of time...). If you have time, please contact me.

The problem w/ introductions is that many distributors will replace them.
KPersonalizer was designed to allow distributors to add addtitional tabs ( a
real plugin interface has never been realized, tho).

SuSE for example has the "SuSE Tour". The question is: How far do we / can we
care about such "OEM" integration?

Cheers,
