I am a single clicker myself. But I think that we should give more weight to 
the usability tests here because

1. Individuals who prefer single click can change to this option using the 
control center. This shouldn't be that difficult for them as it is a "power 
user" option which requires changes to the default behaviour on Windows also.

2. KDE does not yet have a big enough market share that we can try and change 
the culture of users by main force. As long as KDE is expanding (and I hope 
it will keep expanding exponentially!) most users will come from Windows and 
be used to double click.

3. The single-double click debate is not completely clearcut in absolute 
terms. We have heard reasons to do things both sides. As such, we should 
respect the empirical data.
