rather complex, but workable. i suppose as long as we don't have a centralized 
mechanism for handling this detail, it does make sense...

i wonder if there ought to be an email address widget that can be used in apps 
that need it that handles all the syncing (and allows per-app settings) ..... 
sort of like what carsten is doing w/knotifywidget ....
