Ah, that explains why the kscd config page currently works the day it does. For most users, this is a really neat idea. It doesn't quite match the way I work though :( I have an email address that I use solely for freedb submissions. At the moment, the only way I can get kscd to use this freedb-submission email address is to enter it in the KDE Control Centre. Entering it there obviously means that other applications try to use it too. I've been trying to think up a way that would allow my way of working (a different address for each purpose) and the more common "one true address" approach. I don't like any of the solutions I have come up with so far, but I'll list them to see if it helps anyone else think of a good solution. (I should note explicitly that the drawback with the method implemented by my patch is that an update to the email address settings in Control Centre would not be automatically reflected in kscd.) 1) Add a checkbox to the kscd config page to optionally use the email address settings from Control Centre. 2) Have a button on the kscd config page to "Fetch settings from Control Centre". 3) On kscd startup (or a freedb submit event), check to see if the Control Centre settings have changed and ask the user if they want to use the new settings from now on. 4) Use the Control Centre settings unless they are empty, in which case provide a method to enter kscd specific details. 5) Extend Control Centre to permit the configuration of multiple email identities. Like I said, I don't really like any of these options. I'm beginning to think it's just that I work in a very non-standard way... :( Cheers, Dave _______________________________________________ kde-usability mailing list kde-usability@mail.kde.org http://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-usability
