Wee, now it works. i think i actually had to do a make in kdelibs and
not just kfile though? (it didnt change a thing that i logged out and
in again after doing a make all install in kfile)

I like it. One small thing, which is not really specific to this dialog,
is that i find it hard to see whatever a menu item with an icon instead
of a checkbox is checked or not. Well, the preview icon is easy enough
as it doesnt fill up the entire room, but the short and detailed view
ones are hard to see, at least for me. I tried different color schemes
and i generally find that it is easier to see with dark schemes, but
even with them it is quite hard.

Another thing, is the reload button really needed in there? (as in,
could that be moved to the RMB) In most installations it only makes
sense to use it when using a network protocol, which i too think is a
power user feature. (?)

On the sidebar, i think the temporary files should either be removed, or
point to a directory only used for this. I mean, on my system there are
a lot of "crap" files in that directory that i really dont think the
average user should see. (to be specific, there are 105 files in my
temp dir) Perhaps it could use either ~/tmp or ~/$KDEHOME/tmp ?
I think the ~/tmp is the most userfriendly place as they can then easily
find it with konqueror as well. Another reason is that i dont think a
user has to see anything outside his home directory. Maybe even make it
"~/Temporary Files", which is unfriendly in a shell though :)

Finally, am i the only one who get a scrollbar on the sidebar? (a
horizontal one that is) I can see everything without scrolling so i
dont know why it is there.
