Hello, I like to do a suggest. For a lot of users that need usability it would = be=20 better that they can say in a simple way where there is a problem. =20 I think the next suggestion can do this a bit (do with it what you want): What?: A form that appaers on the screen before you log X times out (or=20 start) after installation. Content: FORM: * An introduction (what is this and so on...). * A remark that you can fill the form the best in in english, but that th= is is=20 not required... You have to select in which language you will type the fo= rm=20 so that some people can translate them in english(maybe best only the cor= e to=20 spare time). * Questions like: "What do you find of...?" and the answers whith=20 checkboxes,... * These questions are up-to-date because the form has to generate it with= =20 information from the internet. So, the question of the week can be get m= ore=20 response by this for example. * A place where you can type (a) specific suggestion(s) for (a) program(s= )=20 (that you can select in a list). * By clicking on "Send" the form will be send on a secure connection to a= =20 webpage. It also have to be possible that the sender don't loose his pri= vicy=20 if he wants this. * The sender has to get response of his report by mail if he wants this. * A lot of beautiful graphics and also a graphic of Konqi. * A "Send", "Ok", and "Cancel" button. * ... WEBPAGE * Every day/week the people that translate messages get a message that sa= ys if=20 there are untranslated messages in their language(s) to translate, how ma= ny=20 and a list with links to this messages. (maybe also a tool for this?) Th= e=20 tranlated messages appaers under the original messages. It has to be pos= ible=20 to respond online, close things,... like on the buglist now. =20 * The items with the checkboxes will be used to make statistics so that f= or=20 example programmers know if people thinks (a part of) their program is go= od=20 or not. (*) The translated messages can be sorted and combined with other message= s by=20 the usability-people to make Usability Reports. * ... RESPONDING * Also there has to be a tool that get this messages from the web(a tar.g= z=20 every day + newer messages not in a tar.gz to spare bandwith/cpu-power) s= o=20 you can respond *offline* in a simple/cheap way. (in the form there has t= o be=20 a link to this tool + explanation) * ... I think that all this would causes a better kde and get more users closer= to=20 kde.=20 -- Sander Devrieze _______________________________________________ kde-usability mailing list kde-usability@mail.kde.org http://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-usability
