how about showing the name of the application in the title bar if there is no 
title explicitly set? this will both tell the user where this thing came from 
as well as keep them consistent looking ... 

that and the with-title-bar version looks extra spanky ;-)

gordon is right, i think, when he says that it looks strange when there is a 
close button but no title bar...
