Just to fill in folks from Calligra on Telepathy side - we're ready :) We
have pretty much all that is needed from a networking POV - we have "stream
tubes" that allows to send arbitrary data between contacts (needs Qt 4.8
though), we have embedable chat widget and contact list widget (might need
little tweaks). However we do not have any protocol defined for
collaborative document editing, so one would have to be written (using
operational transformation?) if there is no (floss) lib providing it.

We could probably help with mentoring from Telepathy side, should this
project got accepted.
