Hi all,
it seems that I cannot start konqueror via the K-Menu or the kicker button.
Instead, I get a core dump from some kdeinit process. In other words,
"kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing" does not work for me while entering
"konqueror" in an exterm DOES work.
This is on Solaris 9/Sparc, arts/kdelibs/kdebase from CVS (from approx.
monday, kdelibs from today), everything compiled with gcc 2.95.3 (no
binutils, using Sun's as/ld) and installed into a clean target directory.
Since I cannot reproduce this behaviour on my Solaris 8/x86 box (gcc 2.95.3
WITH GNU binutils) I strongly suspect some issue with the setup of our Sparc
systems and therefore I hesitate to file a bug report at this point...
Anyway, since the release is near, it would be great If someone on this list
could verify that this isn't a generic Sparc Solaris issue...
FWIW, running gdb on the core shows:

I'm still investigating, but any hints/tips are welcome.
