cd into /usr/openwin/lib/config. This is where some of the host-specific
definitions live -- they are needed my xmkmf to correctly build makefiles for
your system. If you don't already have the file "host.def", create one.
Make sure it contains the following lines :
#define HasGcc2 YES
#define HasGcc YES
#define HasGcc2ForCplusplus YES
#define GccWarningOptions -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wstrict-prototypes \
-Wmissing-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations \
-Wredundant-decls -Wnested-externs
Now, edit the file "site.def" and uncomment the section that contains the line
#define LocalConfigFiles host.def
Uncomment all sections that define HasGcc2 and HasCplusplus.
Uncomment the line (modify for your system)
#define PreIncDir /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/(your machine type
here)/2.98.3/include
Edit the file "svr4.cf". Find the sections that defines which bintools to
use. Here's what mine looks like:
#define ArCmdBase /usr/local/bin/ar
#define AsCmd /usr/local/bin/as
#define CppCmd /usr/local/bin/cpp
#define LdCmd /usr/ccs/bin/ld
#define LexCmd /usr/local/bin/lex
#define MakeCmd /usr/local/bin/make /* point to GNU make */
#define YaccCmd /usr/ccs/bin/yacc
That should be sufficient. Now, go back to your source, remove config.cache,
re-run configure and make.
