Maybe someone has a better idea: I've experienced a lot of problems in the 
past with the solaris linker (even though the gcc was compiled by me), so I 
recompiled the gcc and during the compilation I add a flag to compile with 
the GNU linker. I think the linker path can be hardcoded in g++, so whatever 
you do, it will find the solaris ld.
