Unwise, maybe. Its just that waiting longer will cause more grief. The pain of *not* being on git is felt every day and postponing in hope that somebody will write a better way to handle many repos is just not a gamble that makes sense to me. It looks like work on writing the rulesets has all but stopped[1], not sure if thats due to the reopening of this splitting issue. It would not surprise me. Bottom line is that these delays alone are in my personal opinion not worth the fringe benefits splitting may bring. C'est La Vie.
