May you should remove {docs,messages}/extragear-*, {docs,messages}/koffice and docmessages folder.

You can also additionally run:

for po in $(find . -name *.po); do
  sed -i -re '/#~\ /d' $po
  sed -i -re '/^$/d' $po
done

And shrink so size of tarballs again ...

E. g. amarok-po.tar.bz2 can so be reduced by ~ 500 kB.

Settings -> Configure Notifications... -> Nick written -> Show a message in a popup
