Hi all,
I guess there's been problems with KPixmapCache causing crashes for some
people, bug 182026 (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=182026)
I've never been able to reproduce but it seems related to wrong code
generation due to pointer aliasing, as the patches that fix the crash for
people who do experience it make the aliasing explicit.
I committed a cleaner version of the patch for KDE 4.3 (rev 974349), it may be
best to backport to 4.2 as well (I haven't touched branch at all). Another
option that might work would be to compile with -fno-strict-aliasing but I
haven't tried that (although again, I can't reproduce anyways).
Regards,
- Michael Pyne
