Subject: [kde-redhat-users] Unsigned packages on fedora9?
Message: 1

Hi,

I know the kde-redhat page says all kde-redhat RPMS have been
gpg signed but I'm getting lots of unsigned packages w/ apt.
I have imported the kde-redhat key:
  melete|ROOT-22# rpm -qa gpg-pubkey
  gpg-pubkey-ff6382fa-3e1ab2ca

When I try to install the kde packages I get this error:
melete|ROOT-21# apt-get install qt arts kdelibs kdebase
<cut>
The following NEW packages will be installed:
    akonadi (0.80.0-2.fc10)
11 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 removed and 433 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B/50.3MB of archives.
After unpacking 70.0MB disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n]
Checking GPG signatures...               ############################## [100%]
E: Unsigned /var/cache/apt/archives/qt-x11-4.4.0-4.fc10.i386.rpm: sha1 md5 OK
<cut>
E: Unsigned /var/cache/apt/archives/kdebase-libs-4.0.72-2.fc10.i386.rpm: sha1 md
5 OK
E: Error(s) while checking package signatures:
12 unsigned package(s)
0 package(s) with unknown signatures
0 package(s) with illegal/corrupted signatures
E: Handler silently failed

Am I missing something? or are these really just unsigned
packages from the repo?

Thanks,

Frank.

Subject: [kde-redhat-users] CentOS 5.1 and KDE 4.0.2
Message: 2

I've hunted through the archives and various places on the web to see
if KDE 4.0.2 can be installed in a CentOS 5.1 i386 system, but so far
little luck. I'm assuming that it is not yet available for CentOS in
RPM form. The best I have found are some instructions on installing
it from source, but it required an upgrade of the kernel as there was
some concern that kdenetwork-4.0.1 would fail to compile on kernels
prior to 2.6.20 (CentOS 5 is on 2.6.18). I'd rather not change
kernels (and if anyone has ideas on this, please let me know).

Is there any plan for KDE 4 on CentOS through kde-redhat? If you need
any help, can I provide some assistance (testing, building, etc.)?

Thanks,

George

f10 != fedora9

You may be trying to use rawhide.

No immediate plans.

CentOS5 is missing a *lot* of dependencies, but could be doable with
good helping of time and effort.

Maybe when kde-4.1 hits the streets, I'll personally revisit this and
see how to make it happen.
