Subject: [kde-redhat-users] testing kde4 a few comments.
Message: 1

Hi Rex,

I have been giving kde4 a go for the last few days, a few minor things that
may or may not be my systyem,

F8, updated from kde-3.5.8,

I cannot get my Network up and running, Konq throws up things like "Protocol
not supported smb" I have not had time to dig deeper into this yet.

Kmail the spell checking does not work, trying to choose Aspell from tools
gives me this:
"ISpell/Aspell could not be started. Please make sure you have ISpell or
Aspell properly configured and in your PATH"

I have to manually start NetworkManager, I have seen similar reports in
kde.bugs and it maybe fixed in branch.

The Kwallet crash I think has been mentioned here already, but it runs OK once
restarted, my fix is not to have it start at login.

Browsing with Konq does seem painfully slow sometimes, is IPV6 active as
default in kde4 I wonder,

KDE4 is quite a bit different but I am learning my way around it, a few things
I miss that others have mentioned but Plasmloids have started to appear in
kde.look.org

Thanks to all involved, I'll try and stick with kde 4 if I can get the network
running.

I guess I should keep the "unstable repo" activated for any possible updates??

Cheers

Colin
